Automatic Connections while publishing an app to Qlik cloud (Shared or Managed)
Connection will be created to the published space provided the said connection does not exist in that particular space and no mapping connection has been defined under publication properties. (see mapping connection Connection Mapping )
If the specified connection do not exist, it will be created automatically when the app is published.
Steps for automatic connection generation while publishing app to the shared space
Login to the application
Check-in an app.
Note that we don’t have connection for the selected space
Open the app and go to connection tab for the selected ENV / space and double click the connection Record and update the new password.
Since we can't get the password and the driver source id from the Qlik API, we need to manually input it. If we don't put the correct password, the app will not be loaded leading to various errors.
For the driver source ID, WIP will try to include it automatically when the connection is created. For examples “QvRestConnector.exe” the data source id is “rest”. (please note that the id is case sensitive)
If we can't get the source ID from the connection string, the user need to manually input it in that text box.
Publish the app to the cloud.
Open the space on the cloud to check if the published app appears in it.
Now go to the space and click on space details ->Data Sources
NOTE: The connection gets added automatically
Automatic Connections to the managed space
Follow same steps as above and publish the app to the managed space (Publishing App to the Managed Space )
New Connection should be created to the managed space
Few things to Note:
As mentioned above, no connection will be created if same already exist under the publication space.
Connection will be created provided that you have not set a mapping connection as shown below.(for more details on connection mapping steps , please follow - https://ebiexpert.atlassian.net/l/cp/ncNcFbzJ ) .
