Use this guide for quick installation using a mariadb embedded database

Connect to Qlik Sense

Enter Server information

  • Server : Enabled checked

  • Name : display name for your server

  • URL : Url of the Qlik sense server in the sample “https://dell-jp” without any trailing / and proxy

  • External Url : Url of the Qlik sense server the user will access the hub with the virtual proxy for example “https://dell-jp” or “https://dell-jp/proxy” with a proxywithout any trailing /

  • Is Default Server : checked for the server used for AB authentication against Qlik Sense single sign-on (only one server is used for authentication)

  • Impersonate : “For Publish”

  • Username : a Qlik Sense RootAdmin user used for the backup of the applications

  • Set Password : the password for Username

Press save before to press the Certificate button

Import Certificate

In order to connect AB to your qlik Sense servers you need to export the Qlik Sense Server certificate

Select Streams to backup

Admin > Edit Server > Streams to Backup

Select Include all streams and Exclude some

Or simply select the streams to include

Select the Users to Backup

Same for users Include All Users and select some to Exclude or just select the ones to include

Troubleshooting

Can’t connect to Qlik Sense Server

  1. Open the firewall between AB Server and Qlik Sense Server on ports 4242 and 4747

  2. Check the certificate

  3. Check the Username

Start Backup

Once the Qlik Sense server(s) connected AB will start to backup your applications every 15 minutes for Work ones and after every Publish for the ones published to streams.

Note only selected streams and users will be backed up

Restore

Select a period of time using the from and to dates, filter your applications by name, stream, owner.

Once your app found click on “Restore” button

You can restore to Original Location, Work or a stream
