WIP POC Cloud Server Manual

Using ebiexperts POC cloud server

Ebiexperts POC cloud server is a Windows Server cloud virtual machine which contains all the programs needed to perform a WIP Proof of Concept in a QlikView and Qlik Sense environment

The software installed is

  • Work In Progress (WIP)

  • Qlik Sense Server

  • Qlik View 12 desktop

  • SAP-BI 4.2 SP5 Client Tools

  • Crystal Reports 2016

  • NPrinting Client

Connect to WIP

Roles:

Unregistered User Can only create new issues from login screen

Registered + Can login and see his issues in kanban and dashboard

Developer + Can check out/in files and deploy them

Administrator + Can admin and access options

Qlik Sense POC

Select Login Mode = Qlik Sense, press submit and enter the username and password in the Qlik Sense login. As WIP uses Qlik Sense Single SignOn ann further interaction with WIP or Qlik will be done with this user withour to need to reconnect.

In you need to connect using another user, open a new incognito windows or close all browsers your windows and create a new one.

After login with an Admin or Developer role choose the Qlik Sense Icon (“S”) and select the 00 QSENSE-DEV Workspace. The workspace indicates to which Qlik Sense server you will perform your check out and check in operations.

The check-out / check-in of Qlik Sense applications will be performed on the My Work space of the Qlik Sense Hub of the logged-in user

The Qlik Sense sample applications are located on the Qlik Sense folder of Files Content

Check-out

You can check-out a Qlik Sense Application chose VM_DL01_QVDGEN and press Check Out

Open the Qlik Sense Application

Go to https://54.36.147.222/hub/my/work and enter same username and password that the one used in login.


You can now open and modify the application.

Check the application back in WIP

Select the application Checked Out in WIP and press Check In

You can now compare the application with the previous one, select the app and press <<More / Compare>>


Publish the Application

Press the Publish button, enter a Publish Comment, check the Publish Check-List, select <<01 QSENSE-UAT>> environment and press publish


Once published the Publication Results are displayed

Which version is published in my environments?

Select one version and press <<Publications>>. WIP displays the list of environments and their respective versions


Data Lineage

Double-click on VM_DL03_DASHBOARD application and select <<Impact Analysis>> tab. You can click on any application to browse the app references

Agile issues management

Click on <<Kanban Board>> will display a Kanban graph representing all open issues on your system. Select one issue will display on the right all information about the issue, like Reporter and assignees. You can check tasks as they are resolved, add comments that will be pushed by email to the subscribers, and move the issue around the graph to reflect your current work. Note that moving an issue to the Done column will create a deployment release or publish it.

Work with Issues Applications

If you want to access the applications related to one issue press the <<Manage Issue Resources>> hyperlink. WIP will open the issue development View that will allow you to manage the applications linked to one issue as well as the issue itself.


QlikView POC

Connect Remote Desktop Connection

In order to test QlikView you need to connect using Remote Desktop Connection that is normally installed on your Windows PC.

Password : see in #Login

Login WIP

Click on the WIP Icon should lounch chrome browser with WIP

Select the QlikView Icon

and select the 10 QLIKVIEW-DEV Workspace. Login mode Windows AD


The QlikView sample applications are located on the <<QlikView>> folder of Files Content


You can check-out a QlikView Application chose Airline Quality Assurance and press Check Out


The application will automatically open in QlikView see the bottom toolbar

Check the application back in WIP

Select the application Checked Out in WIP and press Check In

The App is processed in the background by WIP Processor, press the bottom refresh button till the Proc Status is OK

Open the application see the different versions

Publish the application

Publish the application to the different environments

Don’t check the reload check box as publisher is not configured,

The red Fail mean the application is overriding the complexity thresholds, and you will be asked

Complexity Analysis exceeds environment threshold. Allow dispensation? just press YES
