Scanning Application Having Section Access

Select an App having section Access

Scan the App having section Access

Activate the App

Open the App to View the details

Sync type should be Manual

Click on Next, Select Reduction fields tab should be loaded

In the 'Reduction Fields' drop down we should see the data listed it is not listed, Click on reload metadata, so we see the fields of the app

Select the fields for which you want to apply the reduction rules and click on Next

NOTE From 24.6.0.003, we do not allow to select more than 5 fields for reduction and 1 million rows on step4.

NOTE 2: When for any of the reduction field if we have more than 1000 unique records, processing of the app data will take time and hence SAM application may become slow.

Assign Section Access tab should be loaded, displaying the list of users and groups of the users if any.

Select the Values for the field which should be displayed for the selected user and add one or more omit fields, for which the Whole dataset /column should not be displayed.

NOTE: While applying SAM rules, we have to make sure we grant the permissions to the proxy user (if used any) other wise Rule will fail.

Click On Next

Review Rights page should be loaded

Click Next and Click 'Open Qlik App'

Click Finish

Qlik App should be loaded in New tab.

Open the sheet /chart.

The Data which is reduced Should not be visible to the user

NOTE: As we Omitted the column country, chart of the sheet having country column wont be displayed.

To view data in this case, create duplicate sheet and remove the invalid column.

Data as per the Reduction Rule should be displayed.
